Stifling a small yawn, Tessa Potter sits on the floor with her back leaned up against the couch, her long dark hair scattered around her face and shoulders. She looks around at the Coven, wondering exactly when they would begin whatever it was they set out to do that evening. The beginner Wicca still feels a bit awkward around the others, never having been the "social" type.

After almost being burned at the stake, however, she feels an odd connection to them. She may not necessarily be the social butterfly that has riveting conversations with the other members, but there is a feeling of solidarity in the group.

And hey, an entire coven is a lot stronger than a lone Wicca, right?

She sits with her knees tucked close to her chest, her fingers drumming on the knee caps. Feeling a little antsy, Tessa wants to get started on whatever it is that they are gathered for. The brunette is budding with excitement, though she contains it in her stoic manner.

Ever since being formally "inducted" to the coven, she's found her magic growing, part of the only reason why she was there tonight. While there is a small part of her that is happy to have some form of acceptance from a social group, there is power that is for her benefit the more she practices and grows with her abilities.

With another small yawn, Tessa looks over to Willow, giving the redhead the once over before opening her mouth again. Instead of a yawn finding its way out, she breaks the silence in the room by asking a question.

"So...what're we doing tonight?"

The request hangs in the air with a tone of simplicity rather than the stoic sarcasm that is usually met with Tessa speaking. After she's asked her question, she goes back to drumming a silent beat on her knees while waiting for an answer.

Angie used to live in the clouds. Now her life is grounded with English papers, parent-teacher conferences and chores. (Ugh. I should hire a maid... or a hott-looking butler.) She waggles her brows at the thought; smirking. However, her expression quickly cools with seriousness as she enters the living room. Although her features are young, her ramrod straight posture and smooth gait suggest... greatness.

Two of her charges, Willow and Tessa, are already there. (Why is she sitting on the floor? She should be seated on the couch, like a Queen.) She turns her head and tries to read between the lines of Tessa's demeanor. "So...what're we doing tonight?" Angie doesn't know the girl that well, but her understanding of human nature is thorough. The girl seems uncertain about something. (Let's see if I can fix that.) She throws Tessa a wink.

"I'll save that for when everyone is here," she says. "For now it's just us girls..." She lowers herself down onto the plush red couch and folds her legs. "I say we enjoy it." (Few men are good for nothing other than fixing the VCR.) Angie gives Tessa a serene smile. "Are you working on any new art projects?"

"Are you working on any new art projects?"

Tessa gives a small smirk, tilting her head to the side and letting some of her wavy hair try to mask the shy smile. She had spent the afternoon in the art room with Trent earlier, working on a painting while he worked on his own creation. She looks down at her nails, seeing small spots of paint underneath her nails.

"Yeah, I started on a painting today." She says, her eyes still picking at the paint on her fingers. Not the type to like attention focused directly on her, she turns her gaze over to Willow. "Have you been working on anything, Willow? I know we've got that big portfolio grade coming up soon..." Tessa says, trying to continue the small talk until the boys arrive.

(Let's get started with the magic, please...)

Having left his shoes by the front door, Zach jumps into living room. His entrance is a mock surprise, as everyone in the room has known he'd be attending this gathering. "Hello hello!" He announces himself as he steps into the room. Instantly, he feels more at ease. The coven makes him feel comfortable, he has virtually nothing to hide in the company of these people. If he'd been in this situation a few months ago, he'd be boiling over with excitement at the prospect of performing magic tonight. But now, thanks to Ethan Rayne, Amy Madison, and a few other mystical mishaps, Zach has become more reserved in his feelings towards magic. He absolutely loves being a warlock, but he's learned magic is a tool that has appropriate and inappropriate uses.

The young man happily saunters over the the comfy red couch a plops down next to Angelica. He offers the group a smile. He notices Caleb is not yet present, he's glad to see that he's not the last one to arrive. He's interested in Tessa and Caleb, he likes both of the newest coven members, but is curious to learn more of them, seeing as he doesn't know much beyond their respective involvement with the coven. He turns to Angelica.

"Sorry I'm late." He gives the beauty a nudge, knowing she can't resist forgiving him. "Now, what has my lateness interrupted?"

Caleb Fenn has entered the building and there’s an expectant silence in the room so he’s either interrupted nothing, or something. As the very newest member of the coven this was only Caleb’s second meeting. He was slightly junior to Tessa who at least had attended a couple of the coven gatherings—and a stake party, the details of which Caleb wasn’t quite clear on, but it sure sounded like party-out-of-control from the titbits. He takes a moment to study the others from the doorway before announcing himself. Yes, nice…nice…nice…oooh very nice.

Of the group he knows Zach best as they both belong to Drama Club and have shared some scenage, but it’s all been surface chat so far. More ‘should I do this line with more baritone’ kinda conversation than ‘I have a pet fish and his name is Bubbles’. So really, I can’t say I know much more about him than any of the others really, he easily admits to himself. He moves forward and claims a seat, one positioned where he doesn’t have to crane his neck to get a good gander at anyone else in the room. All the better to see you with my pretties.

“No, I haven’t run away from you kooky guys,” he says as part of his formal greeting of the evening, “Some majorly deformed dog had a bonsai crush and wreaked havoc on my collection. We didn’t notice this morning, but when I got home I had a hell of a time rescuing my trees. You guys should see the CCTV on that thing; it was ug-a-ly!” Ugly wasn’t quite in the right category, but Caleb didn’t want to say creepy and scary and let the lovely folks of the Sunnydale Coven see his skin crawl. They weren’t on to the introducing each other’s monsters-under-the-bed phase of the relationship just yet. “I was gonna bring goulash—cos when I googled witch’s favourite food that’s what I got—but it’s not really finger food, so I thought I’d ask now so I know for next time.” He’s yet to see even a twinkle of a spell in anyone’s eye and to be honest, he does think he’s found a curious gang of kooky guys who think he’s got a little warlock running around inside of him ‘ready to be making with the magicks’ as Willow described it. Though, bringing his bonsai collection back to life might count to some as a sign of magical ability, to Caleb it’s just a green thumb. He glances down at his hands. In this case, literally green. Sap stains. I guess I’m wearing a tangy floral cologne this evening. “Did I miss anything?” Like say my pre-initiation party? Am I gonna have to wear a dress and pluck a chicken for that?

He’s heard that there’s a spell book and he’s heard that there’s a magic shop, but thus far he’s been too busy trying to make friends and influence people at school and finding his way around the town—although truth be told there’s not a lot of town…except if you counted the number of churches, cemeteries and way creepy dark alleyways. The Sunnydale town planners have a very sick sense of humour. Mostly he’s focused on getting through classes, having a whale of a time in drama club and getting to know some of his class mates. Getting in the coven gig was all new to him, but hey he’d try this wicked cool witchy stuff and see what it spelled out; Caleb Fenn was willing to try anything once. If this was pop up, a bubble would say: Ask Scott Baio!

Tessa's attention is soon directed away from Willow and Angelica as the group is now infiltrated by members of the male species. When both asked what they've missed, Tessa lets out a small sigh and answers, "Nothing more than the usual small talk before we begin getting down to business."

The statement could be read as sarcastic, but honestly, Tessa is just bored. It isn't that she minds small chitchat with her fellow Coven members, but she is here and she is ready to perform some magic. The brunette isn't the type to like to tip-toe around anything and would rather they get right into it.

She turns her gaze to Caleb with a small smile, patting the ground beside her as an invitation to sit down. As the two newest members of the Coven, Tessa feels that it's better to stick together since she is still feeling a bit of the outsider-vibe from the others. They aren't doing anything specific to make her feel that way, it's just how it is.

Tessa reveals the negatory on any people to toads scenarios, which admittedly is rather disappointing. Then she’s calling him down off his mighty chair to a rather less prime seat on the floor, but rather than shake his head at her and frown, like he’s some kinda mythical god—yes right…like that’s even an option—he shrugs—I’m down with my peeps—and slides off his chair to the offered space beside her.

After all, he thinks with a half curve of his lips, she’s got to be the least kooky in the room…she’s not been witchy very long. He glances up at the oldest figure in the room. Now she’s got to be the kookiest, he decides. Yes! he nods—seemingly towards Angelica, but in reality to himself. I’m with Kooky!

“By business I hope you mean toads,” he says to Tessa, sotto voce. “I could really go for mad dog to toad right now.

"Yeah, I started on a painting today."

Angie has immaculate eye contact with her charge, inky brown eyes exuding a serene confidence. (Hmm. Is her art an extension of the Craft?) As Tessa changes the subject, she follows her charge's line of sight to Willow. "Have you been working on anything, Willow? I know we've got that big portfolio grade coming up soon..." Angie casts a sympathetic smile at Tessa. (She's really nervous.) She bites the inside of her cheek; she feels a thrill of temptation creep up her arms. For a moment, the selfish part of her brain hisses how easy it would be to sink her mental talons into Tessa's brain and drag up her mood.

"Hello hello!"

(Thank the goddess.) Angie sighs at the sight of Zach. "Hello, handsome," she drawls, with a grin. The boy breezes into the living room and plops next to her on the couch. "Sorry I'm late. Now, what has my lateness interrupted?" She arches a brow pointedly. Angie doesn't care for being touched, though the softness in Zach's brown eyes makes her cool expression crack with a gentle smile. (He's such a doll.) She half-wonders when Zach's going to find a boyfriend. Of course, she'd rather be the one who finds a sexy Spanish student for him.

“No, I haven’t run away from you kooky guys."

Kooky? Angie releases a silky laugh at Caleb's word selection. (What a character.) As Caleb joins she and Zach on the couch, she checks her watch. (6:25? It's getting late.) She rises from the couch with a regal grace. Shoulders squared, she walks to the center of the room. Angie tunes out the conversation between her charges as she starts her preparations for the night's spell.

(Let's hope they're ready for what's to come.) Reaching toward the book case, she wraps her fingers around a jar of sacred sand. Angie opens the jar, reaches in and takes a handful. With precision, she makes a pentagram on the carpet. "Okay," she says, "we're ready to start. One of my informants has told me that there have been... disturbances in the dreamworld, cracks where they don't belong. No bueno.

The dreamworld is linear to the earth realm. It looks exactly like this plane of existence, but it can be twisted to the will of Morpheus. A dream god." She gives the coven a moment to process this information. (Sometimes, I think they barely accept that I'm not mortal.) "Now," she resumes speaking, "I don't think Morpheus is the one who's causing these ripples." Her eyes drift to the side. "I know him on a personal level and he's one of the more grounded higher beings." (If that makes sense.) "If this is happening, I think it's going on under his nose. It could also start to affect anyone of you. Your everyday lives will grow muddled with dreamworld. Nothing will be what it appears."

"I need all of you to go into the dreamworld to investigate this. The spell in the Grimoire is fairly simple, though it requires all of you." She spares a look at each one of her charges. "Are you all up to the task?"
